SKODA Challenge finalists ready to take on the world

The ŠKODA Challenge UK winners where in Barcelona last week, preparing to pit themselves against the best in the world in this year’s international finals.

Brian McClearn from our Belfast Showroom and the rest UK team included representatives from each of the home nations, where they underwent two days of extensive testing of not only their competence in their particular roles but also their detailed knowledge of our brand and product range.

The tests include written exams and practical tasks as well as some fun activities.

Brian competed both as individual in his Service Technician role and also as part of a team against representatives from 32 ŠKODA markets worldwide. With his particular interest in electrical components, these were some of the key areas, he wanted to show off during the finals!

"It was really tough. The level of experience and technique from the finalists was fully showcased at the event, and I am delighted I was able to be a part of it. Most of the work we undertook was with the new engines, which i thoroughly enjoyed. Being part of the ŠKODA Challenge has been a great experience for me, one in which I hope to be a part of again. Next year I am going to try in the Diagnostic Technician category."

Brian has worked for Mervyn Stewart for 10 years now, 5 of which have been with ŠKODA  and he recently achieved his qualified technician accreditation, were he will soon start working towards master technician status.
