Over 30 years ago, INFINITI set out to create a new kind of luxury automotive brand. One that would purse the ideal measure of power, performance and artistry. But who are we? In 1985 an elite group forms quietly within Nissan, with the purpose to build a new division of performance luxury vehicles. One that would challenge the prevailing American and European luxury brand market, with a more human-centric design.
Just like that, by 1987 the INFINITI brand was born. With this development, a feeling of forward movement takes a hold. To embody it, a badge is designed depicting the two central lines stretching into the horizon. By 1989, the world meets INFINITI, with 51 dealers launched in the United States and two models available: the spacious and yet powerful Q45 Sedan and the performance oriented M30 Coupe. With the debut of the INFINITI Total Ownership Experience, they quickly gain recognition as leaders in customer satisfaction.
With a decade of growth, the INFINITI Owners Club is introduced as an addition to their Total Ownership Experience, which enables owners to get access to exclusive offers and exciting travel opportunities. By the early 00’s both the vehicle advancements and company evolution continued to grow. With intelligent cruise control, refined reversal and pioneering voice recognition, INFINITI continued to push technology further, as well as being awarded the fastest growing luxury brand in the United States.
In 2011, INFINITI partnered with the reigning F1 Champions, Red Bull Racing, to explore future technological collaborations and exhilarating opportunity to deep their performance thinking. After five years of collaboration (2016) with Red Bull Racing, INFINITI now partners with the Renault Sport Formula One Team, which allows them to pursue new advancements in low-emission performance, building on technology like the Direct Response Hybrid System.
By 2016, INFINITI has taken the luxury brand market by storm, with further technological advancements such as, heightening lane awareness, elevated parking experience, unwavering trajectory and back up intelligence, INFINITI is ever adaptable to the technological needs of the consumer. Not only that in 2014 INFINITI launched its inaugural Engineering Academy. A conduit for the brightest young engineers to realise their potential at the force of the automotive and F1 innovation. In 2015, this inspired INFINITI to launch their Lab Programs in collaboration with NEST, the leading Hong Kong Investment Company.
INFINITI Belfast is Ireland’s first INFINITI brand to settle in the Northern Province, with its luxurious showroom finally opening its doors in July 2017.
