The MG4 EV does anyway. 40 awards and counting proved the original got something very right, and this new evolution stays true to those acclaimed dynamics. You still get 50:50 weight distribution and rear-wheel drive that responds exactly how you intend, but we've sharpened the acceleration to 6.2 seconds for 0-62mph for our Premium Extended Range model.

If you need even more, the all-wheel-drive XPOWER cranks everything up. Dual motors. 435 horsepower. 3.8 seconds to 62mph. That's supercar-like acceleration disguised as a sensible family hatchback. And with lowest BIK, you've got the perfect alibi for your entirely reasonable decision.

Wireless capability removes the cable faff entirely. Apple CarPlayTM and Android AutoTM connect when you want them to – instant sync with your music, messages, and navigation. Wireless charging keeps your phone topped up without another plug and keyless entry means you're settling in without having to think about fishing the fob out of your pocket.

Inside, the new MG4 EV adopts the new design language from its MGS5 EV and MGS6 EV siblings – improved materials, updated tech, and a more refined finish throughout. The six speaker audio system fills the cabin with sound depth and clarity. Plus actual physical buttons for climate control. How exotic. 

Heated seats and a heated steering wheel take the edge off bleak winter commutes and the 6-way adjustable driver's seat shows its worth in traffic jams - small comforts that add up over the 200-odd times a year you'll be in here.

The rear seats are genuinely roomy, not just theoretically adequate. The boot features 388 litres with the rear seats up, or 1,164 litres when you fold them down.

New to the MG4 EV is MG Pilot's Custom Function – set your preferred safety settings and recall them easily with each drive. Meanwhile, protection works silently around you as a high-strength chassis creates a reassuring cocoon of safety. All models include six airbags: front, side, and curtain airbags, providing comprehensive passive safety for all occupants.
